About Swamiji

Guruji Sivayogi Suryanandhaji (Sri Putcha Suribabu) takes care of day-to-day activities of Sri Kothandaram Swamiji Trust, which aims to spread Shirdi Sai Baba's message of love, peace and tolerance to people through Satsangs, meditation and annadaanam programs.

Swamiji graduated from Loyala College, Chennai in 1989 with a degree in science. He started his career as a medical rep and worked for almost twenty years till his 'voluntary retirement' in 2008. He moved away from his corporate life to wholly dedicate his time in meditation, and poojais.

A fruit does not fall far from the tree. It was true in Swamiji's case too. He was initiated by his father, Sri Kothandaram, who was an ardent Hanuman Upaasagar. Early exposure to meditation, philosophical debate and meaningful conversations, helped Swamiji to separate religion from spirituality with clinical efficiency. He used his background in science to explore spirituality with an experimental bent of mind and skepticism. Revelations in meditation helped him to understand the higher flights of Vedanta and science in great clarity.

Apart from receiving 'Deeksha' from his father, Swamiji received 'Deeksha' from Malik Baba on Kundalini Yoga. Additionally, he received 'Deeksha' from Srirangam Siddhar and Sri Venkatesh Yogi on 'Vasi Yogam' and 'Gnaana Vizhi' respectively.

Note: Sri Venkatesh Yogi belongs to Mutchamuni Parampara, who happens to be one of the 18 Siddhars. Mutchamuni Siddhar was the founder of the 'Gnaaza Vazhi' school of meditation.
